Double Standard in Teacher Sex Crimes

HOUSTON - A fired Spring Branch ISD teacher accused of having sex with a student is out of jail but must wear an ankle monitoring bracelet.

The judge also ordered Kathryn Camille Murray, 28, to stay away from the alleged victim.

According to court documents, a faculty member told administrators at Memorial Middle School that Murray was having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old male student.

Cannot sue a minor, they have no contract obligation?? Until they are adults.

That is why I said "in their twenties".

Looking up the law, under the Welfare Reform Act, the minor-father's parents (ie, paternal grandparents of the baby) could be sued for child support until the father turns 18. The father would then become liable, and all the government mechanisms for extracting child support would come into play (remember, if a boy fathers a child at 15, at 18 the child is now three, and the boy still has 15 years of child support to look forward to).

If the father at 18 was unable to pay, then the assessed child support bill would accumulate with interest until such point as he had an income. If the court decides the father is willfully making himself unable to pay by not working, then the court could put him in jail.

I didn’t say I agree with it, I said it’s the law. Other countries have age of consents down as low as 12 though that’s changing. I do know they are still developing mentally and physically at that age. Some of them at 14, boys and girls, were very mature. Others not so much. Personally I think young teenagers should be discouraged from screwing anyone whether close to their age or not. I don’t know that I’d go so far as to make it illegal for them to screw others their age.
