"Scruff Face"?
Them's fighting words to Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Minnesota's controversial former governor and TV provocateur.
Ventura, whose real name is James Janos, recently filed a defamation lawsuit against Navy SEAL Chris Kyle over the portrayal of a bar fight Kyle claims they had six years ago in Coronado, Calif. Kyle wrote about the alleged incident in his recent memoir "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History."
Under the headline, "Punching Out Scruff Face," Kyle describes a confrontation with a "celebrity" who served in the military during the Vietnam War and who "most people seem to believe was a SEAL." He said Scruff Face winters in Baja California, opposed the war in Iraq and described the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as a "conspiracy."
Though he didn't name Ventura, Kyle has since acknowledged that Scruff Face is Ventura.
In his lawsuit filed in Hennepin County District Court, Ventura denies any such fight took place and alleges that Kyle defamed him in an effort to promote his book. He's seeking unspecified monetary damages, including any profits from the book's sales.

People I know who have known Ron Paul say he is a nice person...but they don't like his politics. I've never heard Jesse described as "nice."

Jesse’s a punk and a poser. He was never a “Navy SEAL”, he was a “Navy UDT”. The SEALs didn’t exist until after Jesse left the Navy.
I’ve seen the interview with the Seal about three times now and I believe him. He was honest enough to publicly admit that after he punched JV, he ran :-)))
JV definitely has a screw loose - have you ever noticed how he shakes (particularly his head) when doing tv interviews like he’s seething with anger? And I’ve heard comedian Jim Norton (a physically little guy) recount almost being punched out by Ventura in the radio studio of the Opie & Anthony show before he (JV) stormed out in rage.
I really dislike Jesse Ventura, so it isn’t a stretch for me to believe the truth of the account. In my case, it is just a reflexive caution about what I hear on the Internet, since I don’t watch television, read newspapers or magazines.

Jesse Ventura was a UDT and the closest James Janos (his real name) got to Viet Nam was an Olongapo, Philippines cat house.
Correction: at the time Jesse was in the Navy (1969-1975), both UDT and SEAL designators were active; UDT was combined with SEAL until after Jesse’s enlistment was long over (1983). If I was Jesse, I would not want Chris Kyle to get p.o.’ed at me for a very good reason . . . my body staying above room temperature.
