Comparing Newt to Churchill is a tremendous stretch ... Churchill was a soldier early on having graduated from Sandhurst (somewhat equivalent to West Point). He served in that capacity to the extent he distinguished himself in British dust ups prior to and including the Boer War.
Newt has no military back ground and is now on his third wife ... Churchill was married to Clementine for nearly 60 years. By contrast Newt is a flake ... no comparison should be made ... not even close.

I think the article gave the reader much comparisons for a contrast to Churchill. It is surely nothing wrong with giving comparisons. I see many similarities in these 2 leaders. I think many of us know, Churchill was a brilliant man even with his flaws as Newt Gingrich. ( His past marriages are his past/ 50% of the public are divorced) His 2nd wife was involved with corrupt activity-a good reason to move on from her-first wife has better relationship to Newt and their daughters now)

Comparisons are never perfect. Newt's speaking ability, his knowledge of history (and the Constitution), and his great intellect are the three parallels I see.

P.S. According to one biography I read, Churchill was not very sexually inclined and Clementine sought another man's bed at least once.

Newt has no "active duty" military background ...


However, as the "Amry Brat" son of a U.S. Army Captain (Infantry), Newt knows more about the Military than say some loser like Bill Clinton, Mitt Romney, Rick Santrum or The Kenyan ...


Moreover, Newt's been invited many times to speak to U.S. Army Officers on various subjects ...
