Two answers: LA & SF. It has nothing to do with the land. It’s the people and their abject irresponsibility, both morally and politically.
You’re totally right. California is a most beautiful state - I love it. I was there when it was half Republican/half Democratic in the 1970s. Despite the politics, I’ve always found the people very nice. But then half my family lives there.
