I don't smoke cigars as much as I used to due to taxes. But I don't go out bitchin about someone smoking cigs, waving hands in front of face and making "stinky" faces like some folks I know.

All those fragrant incenses, candles, airwicks, etc. that is used in a house is probably worse for you than a whiff of smoke.

I’ve never smoked cigarettes but grew up around them my entire life. I don’t disdain the smell of cigarettes, but the smell of a good cigar is much more preferable. The worst smokers are those who smoke in their own homes. Despite being a cigar smoker, I go to my mother’s house, and it’s all you smell when you walk in the door. When I work on her computers, the intakes are just caked in yellowy dust. It’s a bit unsavory.

My lady and I smoke on our porch with a fan blowing out the back. It’s not the smoke, it’s the nicotine that I try to avoid getting all into the house. Otherwise, I say, let them smoke at their leisure.

It’s funny how a few centuries ago tobacco was de rigeur, and nowadays it’s a tried-and-true bugaboo. Back then, smoking was a social/leisure activity after a day of plowing fields or hunting. Nowadays people spark up a smoke whenever the day gets a little too rough or after a heavy meal. Our problem isn’t explicitly tobacco, it’s all the other garbage we put into our bodies as well.
