MI does not have an open primary, rules were changed. Some may not know this - in fact there are recent articles pointing out that when rats showed up to get their absentee ballots and had to request GOP ballots many just passed them up. These would be the troublemakers.

You must be registered with the SOS 30 days out.

Then you must request a ‘partisan’ GOP ballot which becomes a public record.

You must then show picture ID to vote.

IOW there really is no such thing as an absolute ‘closed primary’ as this is still America and you can still vote for the candidate of choice - am not worried about mischief so much like in other years.

Said another way if 2010 was any indication the rats voted GOP in droves as they had deep discontent with Granholm, Obama, Dingy, Pelosi, Stupak, etc. so the bulk of crossover voting will likely be sincere!

True, Virg Bernero wasn't exactly loved by the unions and Snyder said a lot of things the unions liked. My liberal Ann Arbor uncle is a good friend of Rick Snyder and naturally voted for him. I don't count those as dishonest votes.

Did you read the whole article? The Michigan Demonrat party chairman clearly said the RATS get to vote TWICE, once in the Republican primary, and they can vote again in the Demonrat caucuses two months later!

There will be record turnout. They will also get to choose who runs against Senator Slobbercow.
