Mr Perry didn’t seem to have any trouble using an executive order to tell the parents of female children that they must have a vaccine they may not want foisted upon their daughters.
So look who forgot all about about individual rights.
Why? So the government can pay for that vaccine with a company he was wheeling and dealing with. Hell of a deal.
But he didn’t. The vaccine was not mandatory.
There were several issues that caused me to rank Perry lower on the original list of candidates, but the mandate you cite was a big one. Only in the debate where he was attacked for it did I find out that there was an opt out for parents who didn't want it. That changed everything for me on that issue and frankly I found it dishonest that people made the accusation without the disclaimer.
That is also why I changed my original first choice Bachmann (tied with Cain) when she ran it into the ground so emotionally. I think that's what finished her off with many people along with the suspicion of her running for Mr. Inevitable's VP. I felt bad as she had the voting history that showed she walked the talk, but bailed on the walk at a crucial time.
