Specter claims the conversation never happened and that he made no deal, and if that is true the end result would have been the same. Regardless, making deals with the devil against Toomey, a true conservative who would have very likely won without this betrayal, is morally bankrupt.

This is the first I've heard of Specter denying it. I'm not saying he didn't, I just hadn't heard of it. And I know that if it comes down to a question of whom to believe between Specter and Santorum my choice is easy. I do know Toomey has forgiven Rick. I know I supported Toomey over Specter then and I think I even sent Pat $, but his chances were tight at best and certainly less than Specter's chances. I might have come down on Santorum's candidacy earlier absent Specter; he might have been my second choice instead of my third (after Palin and Cain) one. But I've forgiven him and am liking him more as time passes. His alleged conservative competition personally lost my support by giving a lecture to me and others favoring big government/ big business health care, stronger than any Obama ever gave, about 4 years ago. At least Romney then was saying different states could have different options. I heard Newt go all in for big health care 'reform' and can't trust his very recent week flip back. Rick has never been on that and life as gone overboard to teach him never to go there. As a doctor I want to maintain my personal 13th amendment protection. Rick is the only safe bet left against my involuntary servitude.
