I was there while stationed at Fort Bliss for Advanced Infantry Training (Nike Herc Missile radarman).
We saw a double feature. During the intermission, a wonderful organist, seated on its bench, rose up from below the stage and started playing old favorites, including “The Yellow Rose of Texas”.
Brass organ pipes lined the theater and each one sang out it’s note. It was glorious, and, as you can see, unforgettable.
I have wished, for many years, to take my wife there, to share that memory.
Thank you for your response. Hope the theater is fully restored, for she was a beautiful lady.
I pray that the owners will invest in this legacy, and not the public, for there are too many people, now, that trade on other’s memories and money, instead of investing their own hearts and funds.

The restoration is supposed to be a joint project with the city but they have been busy raising money so at least they are trying not to just use all taxpayer money. I hope you do get a chance to go back and take your wife to see it.
