Problem is: he’s preaching to the choir. To the rest, he comes off as a loon.

The majority of Americans still identify as Christian, even if they are not Christian in truth. While I do not agree with his catholicism, what he said about Satan attacking America is a truth as plain as the nose on your face to most of us--especially us conservatives.

Problem is:...Santorum's preaching to the choir. To the rest, he comes off as a loon.

That's exactly right pingman and for that reason he will not get the full spectrum of voters he would need to beat Obama.

Interesting to read some posts on sites which aren't Conservative and or of a religious nature......amazingly they will vote for Obama rather than Santorum because they don't want resident.

I can't say I don't blame them. There is a time and place... Santorum doesn't seem to have the discernment nor manner of delivery to frame his remarks in such a way as to not be highly offensive to the masses as a Presidential Candidate .... rather he comes across as a circut preacher bellowing hellfire and brimstone.. and that's not coming an invitation for the general public to see him favorably.

There's a reason Jesus said the ....." For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light. "

Where as not only does Newt identify with the public, a sinner forgiven, but he uses the matter of "God given rights" in the context of the what's good for our country and within the lines of the constitution.
