It is said hundreds (thousands?) of times every single day, and it is a decidedly Christian population in the USA. So, it is not fringe.

Maybe it's not fringe to devout RC's and Evangelical Christians, but to the country as a whole is it?

I've been wondering if Santorum's faith would keep him from being elected. It seems to me he is devout and tries to keep his church's teachings. I see this as a positive, but the question I keep asking myself is, "has the country become so secular that any sign of religiosity will scare off a majority of voters"? I don't believe this is an issue for Gingrich because he does not appear to be devout.

I believe Gingrich is relatively new to his Catholicism, but his video series God in America does suggest a level of devotion that is more than noticeable.

An excellent point. Is Florida too secular for a guy like Santorum these days? I think it might be.

Does a country ever swing “back” from secularism?
