Change the word Satan to forces of evil and would you really disagree? Do you think America has been "moving in the right direction" the past several years?
Politically, however, the last thing we need is a Huckabee type talking about Satan and the evils of birth control. We need someone talking about jobs and smaller government.
Guess what? They are ALL part of the same problem.
Because of the contraception/abortion culture of America over the last fifty years, our population is missing somewhere between 60 and 100 million people.
Just what would these tens of millions of Americans be doing?:
1. They would be PAYING TAXES and helping to lower the tax burden on the rest of us (things like defense really don't cost any more with 400 million people than they do with 300 million). They would also be paying PAYROLL TAXES and this would lessen (probably eliminate) the strain on Social Security and Medicare.
2. They would have JOBS. Everyone likes to complain about illegal aliens, but nobody wants to address the fact that in vibrant economic times there simply aren't enough American workers. One reason for this is because they were never born.
3. They would be SPENDING MONEY. That's how an economy grows, by people spending money, more people equals more demand, it's really that simple.
The decline of every great civilization in history has ALWAYS been preceded by a decline in population growth.
The left and libertarians can spout all they want about how contraception and abortion are "personal choices," but the FACT remains that these choices have economic consequences that affect all of us.
Change the word Satan to forces of evil and would you really disagree?
I’m not a “forces of evil” guy either. I know Democrats that think conservatives are “forces of evil” as well. Let’s just say “conflicting ideologies”...use of the word “evil” is way overdone and has little meaning beyond being inflammatory.
And there’s the rub. You conflate contraception and abortion as the same thing, two sides of the same coin. Most people would disagree. The very mention of the “evil” of contraception is political suicide.
Just what would these tens of millions of Americans be doing?:
I’m part of a generation that could only afford 2-3 kids...if not birth control was available most likely I would be using more government services to pay for the extras.
This is one of the things Santorum has been so great at. He connects the dots between social issues and the economy. They are interconnected. If our country had 50 million more citizens so may issues are resolved. If our country did not abandon traditional family values what would our crime and incarceration rates look like?
