This is a incorrect assessment of the type of character Newt has. Newt is the type of person who was driven from a very young age to reform the country. He really believes its his fate to shake things up for the betterment of the country.

Call it vanity if you will, but this is the type of character we need to change up Washington. And, frankly, his political history has always shown him to be an independent thinker. He doesn’t go with the flow.

Saint Rick does not come off like this. If anything, he is an opportunist seeking power for the sake of power. I base this on his deceptive behavior, in the way he has dishonestly attacked the other candidates early on, and his campaigning on family and social issues while claiming to be the “true conservative”, meanwhile he favors minimum wage, “Open Space” moderate nonsense, and thinking up ways to enforce censorship on video games or online porn.

These are two very different men. One has vision, the other is small minded. I choose Newt!

Greetings Apollo5600:

The core of freedom is our individual liberty. “Independent thinker” Newt Gingrich did co-sponsor legislation in support of an individual mandate in 1993. That legislation went against conservative flow. An individual mandate forcing us to pay a health care tax just for waking up breathing in the morning, that’s quite the opposite of my definition of liberty.

This “independent thinker” label reminds me of McLame’s “Maverick” label.

Whenever a candidate adopts the left’s language, be it: open spaces, health care as a right, living wage, maverick, etc., they fall into a word trap.

Again, Newt is not perfect, nor is Rick. Both are much better than RuPaul or Myth. I’ll take any of them over 0bama.

Cheers,
OLA

OMG - just caught a snipped of Santorum speaking about “I have the GIFT of being underestimated”. He went on and on - all about himself. Not one word about his policies, proposals or plans for the future.

This man is another narcissist - a goody two shoes - and an immature right wing social engineer. He should have been a televangalist. He is NOT a fiscal conservative.
