I have thought of Romney as the “Destroyer” for quite a while, a cult leader in quest of revenge against a nation, culture, religion, a people, that his family has despised and resented, and felt persecuted by, and superior to, for 171 years.

Romney is anti-conservative, anti-Republican, even anti-American, or at least in the way and for the reasons that we like America.

Romney has an internal agenda that has been shaped by his family's anti-American Mormon history, and by his own Mormonism as a leader in the religion. None of us know why he wants to be president, I think we all know that the Senate race and the governor term were merely to be a step to the Presidency, a perfunctory step to his destiny, and we don't see any connection between him, and any destiny for America that could depend on him, at least that we want to know about.

Some of that unease that America feels with Mitt, is a sense that something is going on in there that isn't good for us, something which we would not like, there is a faint, almost imperceptible sense of a darkness in Mitt Romney, a cold, total, absolute focus on his own internal purpose, which is unknowable to us and is separate from ours and our nations.

Excellent post. Near describes my thoughts and feelings about Romney. I have this sense that he’s been running for POTUS for literally decades, and to what avail? I’ve never heard one thing from him that inspires me to want to vote for him. IMHO, it’s truly all about him, and him only. I don’t get any sense at all that it’s because of his love and concern for the country. In no uncertain terms, I will-not-vote for Romney should he become the nominee. Will write in a candidate most likely, but will not cast a vote for this man.

Here's something else to think about concerning Romney---all of his shadowy minions and campaign staffers who have been waging this scorched-earth war against Conservatives (beginning with the 2008 attacks on Sarah Palin) will be the ones populating the White House and federal bureaucracy should he somehow get the nomination and then beat Obama.

To me, there's not a dime's worth of difference between them and Obama's people.

Funny you should say that. And clever.

Every word you said is quite true, yet most folks either don't realize it (yet) or are unwilling to consider it.

Between Mitt Romney and Obama, who would you prefer?

Your #5 was well stated.

There really IS something creepy about Mitt and you may have provided some clues.

That man just does not communicate honesty in anything he says or does. He’s more like a Huckabee snake oil salesman.

You summed it up perfectly.

Romney makes me uneasy. Uncomfortable. I don’t trust him and I really don’t know much about him. He will say anything to get elected- why? Why is it so important for him to win? There is something slightly sinister about this guy. Like he has been groomed for some time to take office.

But by whom?

And sorry, those moron commercials that say, “I’m a mormon, I’m just like you” don’t cut it. You are NOT just like me. And never will be. So shuttie.
