NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Newt Gingrich told Channel 4 News Thursday that he plans to visit Nashville in the next few weeks but did not give an exact date.
Gingrich said when he visits, he plans to announce several big endorsements from local politicians. Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson has already endorsed the former Speaker of the House.
The GOP candidate told Channel 4 reporter Caroline Moses that he has already raised a substantial amount of money in Tennessee and has several big conservative donors in the state.
Gingrich said he believes he has a good chance of winning the state's March 6 primary due to his pro-life, pro-gun and pro-jobs initiatives.
Oh, and one more thing. I drove almost right up to the hanger the last few minutes before it started. Walked by several people huckstering buttons....and within inches of where he and his clan walked in. I wasn’t frisked, I wasn’t checked, I didn’t go through any metal detector. I frankly didn’t see many plain clothesmen, you know the guys who are six six and in sunglasses.
Seemed very very lax security.
Wish I could go see him,but we’re short handed at work. My grandson lives in Nashville, so when Newt’s schedule comes out, Ill be sure and let he and his wife know.
Please ad me to the Newt Gingrich Ping List.

Good on ya. I am about two hours away from Nashville. Wish I was already retired. I’d be working for him and dang proud to carry his “Baggage”!
