PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.-- Newt Gingrich had a message for rivals Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney at a campaign event in his native Georgia Friday: bawk bawk bawwwk.
After two people dressed in chicken suits entertained the crowd, holding a sign reading "I'm Chicken to Debate Newt," Gingrich hit his rivals for backing out of a CNN-sponsored debate that had been scheduled for March 1 but was canceled after Santorum, Romney and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said they would not attend.
"I'm going to ask them to reconsider and come to Georgia. It'll be just fine," Gingrich told an audience of about 400 gathered in an airplane hangar in Peachtree City for an evening rally. "We'll be hospitable, and frankly there's something wrong when someone tries to buy their way to the presidency."

Darn Vegas and Atlantic City billionaires!
Just kidding.
Romney, Santo and Rupaul - Chickenmen - they're nowhere near ... a Georgia debate.
LOL GMTA!
I scheduled a debate for March 2nd, but Newt Gingrich won’t even return my calls.
Here we go with the money envy again. How about sticking to the issues, Spkr. Gingrich, which don’t include anti-capitalism from the right!
No offense, but he kind of sounds like the playground bully, crying “chicken”.
This next debate will make 20 debates now between these 4 candidates. I don’t know about you, but do we want to do a debate for all 50 states? Not me!
I don’t remember any candidates pulling out of an Ohio debate. Why would Ohio voters care about some debate in Georgia. They are all debating in Arizona after all — it’s not like the candidates won’t debate Gingrich.
And it’s not like they all signed up for a debate, and then pulled out. The Georgia republican party tried to schedule a debate, it’s too close to super tuesday, and 3 of the candidates have better things to do that week. Maybe if they had scheduled the debate earlier, they’d have gotten all the candidates to participate, like Arizona did.

There’s also a debate “scheduled” for March 5th that NONE of the candidates have signed up for yet, so it was cancelled. It was in California, and also suffered from being too close to the Super Tuesday primary.

BTW, I know the “Ohio Republican Party” was also “sponsoring” this debate, but it was in Georgia, not Ohio. And it’s wrong to say anybody “cancelled” an appearance, because the 3 never accepted the invitation.
Hope someone checked out those chicks.
I suspect a “bug” in the wings by the name of BA RAAAAAk!
You would think that they would all want every opportunity to build their case and show their mettle to the public, but they chickened out instead.
I feel cheated as someone who is curious to see the GOP candidates debating with each other.
Too “close”? Six days before is “too close”?
Weren’t the debates in South Carolina and Florida even closer? Two days before the primary. And they were ALL present.
