School lunches are very heavy on the carbs, and lightweight on protein. The mother’s version of lunch was much healthier. The school lunch: breading on the nuggets, a sweet potato has more carbs than a potato, both are bread equivalents, plus bread on top of that. Kids eat more just to keep their blood sugar up. {Not enough protein to keep blood sugar stable.}

By remarkable coincidence, kids are generally fatter and dumber than they were 50 years ago...
