I talk to people here and none of them really care. They buy the ‘let them be happy’ argument. Most love Obama, the 30% that doesnt are not the least bit interested.
The work discrimination laws in Maryland cover gays so talking about the issue at any job here is dangerous, in fact the state government pushes employers to encourage gay support groups at work under diversity goals.
When I saw that FNC wouldn't talk about the DADT repeal in any meaningful way, I knew we were screwed. FNC may not be perfect, but it has a huge Republican audience.

Even if the people you talk to don’t care now, if you give them factual information, they may remember in the future and start to care. I used to be a very hardcore leftist. People can and do change. And many states in the midwest, south and west are not as liberal as the east coast (thank GOD!).
