What CBS News meant to say was Santorum is for locally run public schools.

While not perfect, its a step in the right direction. Besides, we simply aren't going to do away with public schools any time in the immediate future. Local control at least gives us a fighting chance to improve them.

I did away with it long ago. My kids have never seen the inside of a public school. It doesn't take legislation to do away with public schools, it takes conservatives who are willing to choose an alternative.
