Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorums big mega-donor kicked up a controversy over the issue of contraception today when he urged a return to the good old days when gals had a simple solution for it: aspirin between the knees.
Were not kidding.
Wealthy entreprenuer Foster Freiss, whos backed Santorums Super-PAC, made the statements to MSNBCs Andrea Mitchell today, after being asked if his candidate has expressed some extremist views on contraception.
He appeared to express wonder that women even have to worry about the issue of paying for contraception these days, Politico reports.
On this contraceptive thing, my Gosh its such [sic] inexpensive, he added. You know, back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraception. The gals put it between their knees, and it wasnt that costly.

So, now we’ve come to the point where not only does everything our candidate utter get torn apart by a rabid media, but everything anyone says who SUPPORTS them is fair game, too.
Meanwhile, NOTHING ** ANY ** Democrat says (or does) is challenged, or even open for debate - and we are stupid, ignorant, and racist for even thinking about questioning them.
This crap HAS to be changed. Hopefully, Santorum will come out and laugh at them and make them angrier. That would be one way he could possibly impress me.

No, Newt supporters will find this funny. What might confuse us is that Rick Santorum himself has a funny bone by pass and it was a damned success.
Freiss is funny. Santorum is totally 100 per cent prudish and humorless to the core. Totally. Let Freiss run and Rick run the PAC.

The way the Newt Gingrich are acting with this, and using it to make hay with and attack Rick Santorum with you would think that they would be for ( " ABSTINENCE " ) and less government social programs for the abortionist, paying for housing for unwed mothers and teen pregnancy, this issue effects all of us tax payers.
Yes people, this is the unintended consequence of not teaching the virtues of abstinence.
What ever happen to those here on Free Republic who were whining about that we should not focus on social issues ? and now ? they come out and attack with this ?
ABSTINENCE, it works when it's used, and it's free, not paid for by the government.
ABSTINENCE is a " Conservative " value.

Soro has NAZi sympathies.
The Governor of North Carolina, an Obama backer ‘joked’ that we cancel elections.
But nothing is as ‘offensive’ as telling people not to have irresponsible sex...

" Kinda odd how theyre acting like Santorum is walking into a trap but theyre the ones wanting to keep those embarrassing conservative ideals out of the public eye. "
Yeah, how embarrassing of them to admit they that are " Conservative " ....
The same as ? how the Liberals are afraid to admit that ? they are LIBERAL ?
Abstinence has always been a " Conservative " virtue and conservative value.

" What you may be missing is that most women arent going to think its funny or a joke, and most younger people are going to think its bizarre and unsettling. "
Hey ? get a clue , people don't think it's funny or a joke of us having to pay for this by the government.

This is not the 1950s. We have to win with the electorate as it is today, which means not telling us about what Rick thinks is morale, whether people should practice birth control, or whether women should work.
Rick spells certain and landslide defeat if we nominate him. Gingrich is light years better. "
We are talking about " Conservative " values and virtues here..
If you are correct then, then ? Newt Gingrich has more appeal and values focused towards those on the left and those OCCUPIED Wall street loonies... let them vote for Newt, we are in the race to vote for a " Conservative " candidate here, not appealing to the left and Wall Street Occupiers.

“Yes people, this is the unintended consequence of not teaching the virtues of abstinence.”
Maybe if Newt practiced a little abstinence, he would still be Speaker of the House today.

This is such a gaff in which the late night comedians will have a field day now (not good as well as skipping the GA debate)

What ever happened to the birth control that is the most effective called Noassatall???

And what does this have to do with Rick Santorum? Is he responsible for jokes told by the guy who runs an independent SuperPac? Don’t vote for Foster for President if you think it’s a problem.
If I held Gingrich responsible for what some of his backers here said, he couldn’t win for dog catcher.

Rick is clearing the field for Gingrich in Georgia. I thought that was what Gingrich folks were for now, splitting up the delegates to stop Romney.
What possible good would it be for Santorum to debate Gingrich in Georgia when Romney isn’t going to be there — the moderators will make it a non-stop attack on the two conservatives, and Ron Paul will help.

I think we need a campaign handbook for conservatives (or any Republican for that matter) and their staffs in which Rule #1 is:
"I'm going to say something funny, but it might take your average brain dead moron more than 3 seconds to get it - maybe I'll just keep quiet."
We'd be so much further ahead of the game.

I think a picture of Michele Obama’s would be more effective.

That would disqualify 99% of all freepers from running for office.

IT WAS A JOKE. I REPEAT, A JOKE.
FR has elements that are as humorless as an old marxist who has to pay for his own trojans.
