I’m a Newt supporter, however Santorum is absolutely right about this, energy producing states, especially rural states with lower populations and a higher ratio of law enforcement to that population (meaning fewer officers per 1000 citizens for example) means that terrorists, specifically Iranian terrorist cells very likely have such states and energy producing facilities already on their list of possible targets.
To criticize and condemn Santorum for stating what is a real possibility is not only short sighted, it’s stupid as Hell. The argument about “don’t give the enemy ideas” doesn’t wash because you can bet the rent they came up with the idea a long time ago. Iran has been our enemy since 1978 and they’ve had lots of time to scope out potential U.S. targets both here in this hemisphere and throughout the world.
Our choices come down to four candidates at this point, two of which (Mitt-Witt and Ron “Bradley Manning Is A Patriot” Paul, both of which are (or should be) totally unacceptable to ANY thinking conservative.
That leaves Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum as the conservative alternative to Romney or Paul. I could vote for either one of those gentlemen with a clear conscience, and I think the sniping at either of them should cease right now.
Well said, mkjessup.
