That was what was so funny about the South Park episode, after all. It’s not like he had to completely re-write the words.
I don’t recognise the lyrics you cite. Whether they are part of a “jesus is my boyfriend” type of song or not, I could not say.
This is more of what I’m listening to these days, although I pretty much cross the spectrum on music, both Christian and non-Christian:
“A voice screaming from within
Begging just to feel again
Cant find who I am without you near me
Id give anything to live, cause without you I dont exist
Youre the only one who saves me from myself
I abandoned this love and laid it to rest and now I’m one of the forgotten”
Those are actual Praise and Worship lyrics.
It’s sad when the culture can see what is wrong with we Christians better than we can....
Newsboys, “He Reigns” really got to me when I first heard it.
The Newsboys are amazing. Probably my favorite band.
I was sad to see Peter Furler move on and go solo. His solo album is OK, but it's nowhere near his work with the Newsboys.
From what I understand, Michael Tait (of D C Talk fame) is now their new lead singer.
Still not the same...
But he has Kevin Max singing with him on two of the new songs..
I will be there!
It's a celebration in memory of Warren Hellman, who founded the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in SF.
If I could join you, I would, but it's too far away.
Enjoy!
They just need Toby Mac now. :^)
My favorite Christian band is Saviour Machine. They hail from California but have a much larger following in Europe. Their style is progressive goth metal and their lyrics are inspired largely by the Book of Revelation. Here are a few video links:

The ending in this video is excellent.
I checked out a few other Vesper videos while I was on YouTube.
Listen to the live cut called "Close My Eyes."
Good stuff.
I also like GreenCouchSessions.com. I am a big Paul Burch fan.
Nice! They remind me a little bit of the Avett Brothers—only not nearly as annoying.

I caught sets by Kane, Welch and Kaplan (they are so good), Steve Earle, and Buddy Miller.
Made it home in time to watch the final all-star set led by EmmyLou. A good day.
When Lin is asked about Tebow and Tebow is asked about Lin (I saw Tebow interviewed today on ESPN), they both say the same wonderful things about each other. What an absolute pleasure it is to watch these two confident (in Christ), humble young men...
Guess I’m showing my age:

Thanks for sharing that. If you hear about any sort of music festival similar to that one scheduled for Las Vegas, Nevada, let me know.
It's something I would like to catch.
