Thanks for the Good Word. I really appreciate all your posts, Marguerite!
What a great quote from Doug Hoffman. If HE can forgive the Dede Scozzafava endorsement, everyone else should be able to, also.
Defense Budgets during the Gingrich years in $Billions:
1995 321.6
1996 307.4
1997 305.3
1998 296.7
1999 298.4
Held Federal spending increases to 3.1% a year and cut defense spending by 7.2%.
That’s pretty much how I see it. Rick’s on video professing his beliefs; so, he can’t “pivot” to a more moderate position; and even if he tried his base would probably go ballistic.
Checkmate.
Take care,
-Geoff
Did you even notice the post I responded to? The argument you make for “not holding Newt’s endorsement of Dede against him” can be made for Santorum’s endorsement of Arlen. If one is unforgivable; so is the other.
There is a major difference here:
When Gingrich supported Dede’s candidature, he was not running for any official office. Newt had no other interest than GOP candidates to be elected.
Santorum supported Specter in 2004, because Specter supported Santorum in his 2006 reelection bid. Same payback between the two as in 1995.
So, IT ISN’T THE SAME THING.
Newt didnt GO anywhere. The media simply ignored him to create the appearance of him going away.
I am not seeing Newt supporters either in person or on the internet claiming to be jumping ship. They arent. The media (both Rep and Dem) are doing their best to damage his name recognition by not talking about him at all.
Cant say how it will turn out, but none of the conservative friends I have are writing Newt off or jumping to someone else, they are just terrified because they are having to stand on their own without big public media reinforcing what they KNOW is the right chioce.
Hes a long way from being out yet. Time and conviction of voters will tell.
Agree wholeheartedly. Based on the fact that everyone knows he is going to do very well on Super Tuesday, it is obvious the GOP-E and the Media Elite are intentionally ignoring him.
Some of these Radio hosts that I formerly thought were conservative, are blatantly not mentioning his name as if he didn't have a huge conservative and Tea Party following.
It sickens me!
Sean Hannity had him on his radio show today though.
No it isn't. Specter Sphincter was a long time sitting senator. A party seldom supports a challenger to a sitting senator in its own party.
Dede was a pro-abort, pro-gay marriage would-be 'rat who threw her support to the 'rat when she saw that republican voters wold have no part of her.
