Complete title: Obama follows his own advice to 'go big' this Valentine's Day by treating wife Michelle to lavish dinner at top restaurant
After warning men across the country 'go big' this Valentine's day, it appears President Obama took his own advice.
He treated the First Lady to dinner at pricey restaurant Vermilion where plates of caviar, beef and chocolate truffle tarts were on offer.

It is believed they enjoyed the restaurant's lavish Valentine's menu, which included lobster tortelloni, beef with truffle jus and passion fruit cheesecake.
The four-course menu costs $75 for one person - minus the obligatory Valentine's day wine.
The expensive treat came after Obama made an announcement on Tuesday morning reminding men to spoil their partners.
'Let me start with a quick public service announcement for all the gentlemen out there,' he said. 'Today is Valentine's Day.'

Hey, it looks Michelle's hips took that advice too!
When I see that photo, a bit o’ breakfast comes up in the throat and, for some reason, I think of the name Sir Mix-A-Lot.
Schmuck wrecks the economy then rubs our nose in it by taking his wookie out to eat high on the hog.
How Soviet of him.
That is one ugly decor. I don't think I could eat in that room.

I bet after all that food, she still had room to scarf down a wheelbarrow full of tamales.
Presidents are supposed to pay the grocery bill for the first family, but for state functions, parties, etc, we pay the bills. I suspect they raid the WH kitchen at night to avoid paying the bills for all the lobster, shrimp, etc.
This explains how it is handled:
Like all presidents, Barack Obama and his family will have to pay for their own food while theyre living in the White House. But does someone actually send them a bill? How does this system work?
President Obama may have his own executive chef now, but when his family and personal guests eat whats coming out of the kitchen, hell have to foot the bill himself. Luckily for him, though, the government picks up the tab if hes having a state function at the White House, which could get pricey since the White Houses website touts that its five chefs can crank out dinner for 140 or hors doeuvres for over a thousand people.
Does someone really keep track? Apparently, the White House functions like a luxury hotel in this regard. At the end of each month, the president receives a bill for his food and incidental expenses. Nancy Reagan was famously taken aback by this practice when an usher presented her first bill in 1981, saying, Nobody ever told us the president and his wife are charged for every meal, as well as incidentals like dry cleaning, toothpaste, and other toiletries. (Once they got used to the bills, though, the Reagans loved the White House; President Reagan often joked that all the amenities made it like living in an eight-star hotel.)
