"I guess Rick forgot about female combat pilots. If I’m not mistaken they fly jets and hellos."

And they are damn good at it.

In September 1942, Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron was established. Although the women pilots of WAFS flew military planes across the US to military bases, filling in the lack of manpower.

When the two groups were merged to form Women’s Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) in August 1943, their duties increased beyond ferrying to towing targets for aerial gunnery practice, simulating strafing, instructing male pilots and running check flights for repaired aircrafts.

Four F-15C pilots from the 3rd Wing step to their respective jets, left to right: Maj. Andrea “Gunna” Misener, 19th F Capt. Jammie “Trix” Jamieson of the 12th Fighter Squadron, Maj. Carey “Mamba” Jones, 19th Fighter Squadron, and Capt. Samantha “Combo” Weeks, 12th Fighter Squadron. July 2008

I cannot speak of their roles as pilots in the Air Force but my experience in the Army was that the "success" of women was due to the fact that they were held to different physical standards than men. There was also a lot of pressure to promote them to and applaud them in as many positions as possible. The Officer Efficiency Report had a little check box that indicated that the said officer support the equality of women; and heaven help the officer who did not have that box checked.

None of this is to suggest a lack of respect for women. Men and women are just different. I feel sorry for those women who have been indoctrinated to have so little respect in themselves as women that they feel compelled to compete with men in masculine pursuits. The greatest form of misogyny is feminism.
