Newt Gingrich raises money in California, pledges to lower gas prices
Boston Herald ^ | Tuesday, February 14, 2012 | John Hoeffel (LA Times)

LOS ANGELES — On a day packed with California fundraising events to refuel his campaign, Newt Gingrich insisted Monday that he would not drop out of the GOP presidential contest even though polls show he is not now winning the argument against Rick Santorum that he is the best conservative alternative to Mitt Romney.

The former House speaker also appealed specifically to California conservatives, promising to make the state competitive in the general election and pledging to take on the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, which ruled against the state’s same-sex marriage initiative.

“This is a consistently bigoted, anti-religious court,” Gingrich said, also pointing to its controversial decision that the words “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance violated the Constitution. “I’d ask the Congress to look seriously at either impeaching or replacing the 9th Circuit.”

The 9th Circus is a good place to start.

Newt is doing a high risk firewall strategy. It’s going to be tough but not impossible.

I’m absolutely convinced that Newt Gingrich is the junkyard dog we need to rip Obama a new one and send him running back to his Chicago slime pit with his tail between his legs. Newt has plenty of DC experience as Speaker, executive ability from his many enterprises, and a silver tongue that’s razor sharp! He’s fast on his feet, delivers it straight up with no hemming and hawing, and is often witty. His work with American Solutions was very impressive and as we’ve seen recently, Newt is able to put into words what the vast majority of Americans really believe. His fevered brain also has plenty of ideas for making government work better for taxpayers. Is Newt pure as the driven snow? No - none of the presidential candidates are in line for sainthood. Whatever Newt’s “baggage”, it pales next to Obama’s habitual lying and outright corruption - and unlike Obama, Newt is 100% American! Newt is like Larry the Cable Guy: send him to DC and he’ll “Get ‘er done” for all of us. Junkyard dogs are not show dogs, but they’ll save your bacon!

I am damn mad at what Obama and his bootlickers have stolen from us - you should be damn mad too! - and I want someone to represent me. That somebody is Newt Gingrich! Go git ‘im, Newt!

No, because the MSM has diverted much of the blame on Congress, i.e. the Republicans, even though the Senate is still in democrat hands.

The Senate is just not getting the credit it deserves.

Many noted his proposal to allow some illegal immigrants who have been in the country for years to become legal residents.

UGH! I really wish he would drop that nonsense.

I couldn't have said it better. And as far as being pure as new driven snow, if he was, I wouldn't want him. I want a mean SOB that will take it to the Dems and MSM with no reservations.

GO NEWT!

***Newt has plenty of DC experience as Speaker***

A leadership position that neither Romney or Santorum can claim. Newt was not a spendthrift or an egomaniac in Congress - but he was motivated by conservative principles -against the earmark GOP and socialist Democrats. He fought rather than playing their game with their rules. The ultimate betrayal - abandoned by the very people he helped into office.

Santorum and Romney talk tough - but it’s just talk - they have never fought any hard battles with blood, sweat and tears.

Santorum is about to feel the “full Mitt Monty”. He will not survive.

Newt is being boxed in through no fault of his own but that he is a giant among varsity contenders, a MAJOR threat to the establishment and a horror to the Marxists.

He can NOT be allowed to shine in any more debates. Expect the opponents at the other podiums to try their best to fix the audience against Newt, while those on the outside in the establishment will be seeing that no significant big money comes his way, busily arm breaking, threatening, contract cancelations, and bribery (guarantees).

We the People have to fund this winner enough to let him prove the trail into a stunning Super Tuesday, where it is usually over but for the crying from those who lose it. Shifts historically occur in reading the numbers. Get ‘em on Tuesday, or lose ‘em entirely.

Still sit here stunned about that Florida audience. RINO’s contracted that venue for 3000 seats and filled only 800 plus....heavily leaning anybody but Newtron. Can’t let that happen again.

Gingrich will once again rise once Romney and his PAC unleash their wrath and spew on Santorum. People need to understand that there is no way Santorum will win in the general.
