I wonder if it was that picture of Santorum and Bella that started his alleged “surge.” It’s a priceless photo.

I did not see the picture but you are probably right. I bet that the fact that he took three days off the campaign trail to play with his three-year old daughter in the hospital where she was being treated will be an irresistible quality to wives and mothers (and not a few dads) all over the USA---in the primaries and in the election.

That is particularly true since he had no political motive. Just a great husband and dad. Reagan's attraction was that he was the sort of guy you would gladly spend a few hours with. Santorum is a natural that way.
