Why do Gingrich supporters feel the need to marginalize Santorum by changing his name? This is reminiscent of those who named the residue of sodomy after Santorum; a tactic to marginalize without having to state any facts.
In the unlikely event Gingrich wins the nomination, (see my other posts on this thread) he cannot win the general without Santorum supporters. Those treated shabbily will not be enthused. We do not dismiss Newt; we just don’t support him in the primary. We won’t be pushed, and “not Obama” isn’t enough.

So you think that it is disrespectful to call Santorum by funny names and that when he loses, he will be less likely support Newt because he was called names on this site.
I follow these treats pretty well and can only think of one other poster who called Santorum by a funny name, but obviously could have missed it.
Freepers often use irony and put down humor to make a point. This is supposed to be fun.
Calling Santorum “Sanitarium” I thought was kind of funny, suggesting that supporting a candidate who lost by 20 points the last time he ran in his OWN state is simply crazy.
Add to the fact that the man has accomplished almost nothing in his career, excepting some admirably pro-life legislation, and the fact that he has NO management experience of any organization larger than his Senate staff makes him a very weak candidate.
In other words, for us to support him is the equivalent of a trip to the loony bin.
That said, he is vastly better than Romney.
I prefer Newt. You and I differ. You are free to call Newt names on this site if it helps make your point. I will not be offended and I doubt Newt reads this stuff, but maybe he does...
Hi Newt!
