Mitt Romney is getting some heavy air support in Michigan the state where he was born and raised as the super PAC supporting him invests almost $500,000 on television ads there.
According to someone who tracks Republican media spending, Restore Our Future has committed just over $470,000 for commercials starting Tuesday and set to run through Feb. 20. That marks the groups largest purchase yet in Michigan, where it will have spent more than $700,000 on ads by next week.
The group said Monday that it would continue for now to run an ad called Risk that targets Newt Gingrich using images and attacks that have by now become familiar advertising fodder. It cites the proliferation of earmarks during his tenure as House speaker and shows a shot of him sitting with Nancy Pelosi on a couch in front of the Capitol, a shot taken from a public service announcement on global warming.

I thought Rick was fairly Conservative. I have been spending the past 10 days reading up on him. At best he is a fiscal moderate-to-liberal. His instincts seem to have him turn to government as the first solution on economic matters.
The fiscal situation in our Republic is dire. Rick, being trained as a lawyer, does not seem to be strong on gutting government and letting Freedom reign.
>>GINGRICH/WEST WILL BEAT THOSE TWO SOCIALISTS!!
That’s a good team, too. Thanks.
Hey, KMA
You guys already bought the bait. Slick Rick supported his counterpart in ‘08 Mitt very loudly. You don’t support and associate your name with a pro abortion pro homo big gov’t healthcare candidate and then call yourself a conservative. Only suckers buy his sanctimonious crap now. He’s dirty and only attracts those who are attracted to evil/deception.
Bishop romney, the great deceiver, thanks you for your support.
Newt and Rick both are not the best at the 2nd Amemdment. Heck, I was quite upset with Newt's crazy positions on AGW. The fraud of man-made Global Warming is one of the issues that I feel strongest about.
When I got serious about the field and read up on the candidates, I concluded that first and foremost our Republic must be lead by someone who wants to gut the power of D.C. It became quite apparent to me that Newt was connecting on the most important issues in a strong way.
Newt is clearly outlining a very specific, detailed platform that can indeed turn us back towards Liberty. Newt's idea of having the GOP field sign-on to a pledge to severely tackle out of control government is very, very powerful and will bring a lot of people to his side.
I reviewed Ricks Issues listing at his sight. While positive, it is not nearly as bold as Newt's. Rick doesn't have a big issue with the Dept of Education, or the Dept of Energy. He seems to want more tweaks (i.e. spending) to "improve" education.
Newt has proposed outright elimination of the Energy Dept and the EPA.
Gator, I am with you. Tired of establishment republicans that are too willing to throw hard earned taxpayer dollars to the wind.
Santorum is the epitome of a big govt man. NO to Santorum and NO to Romney.
Newt said during his CPAC speech the establishment is out to defeat him because they want to keep their mobid grip on Washington DC.
Santorum has NOT been vetted as some on this forum want us to believe. He has been given a free pass and there is a lot that will come out on this pious fraud.
There is no chance he will beat Obama or even Romney.
Gee.... I wonder why Willard and his minions see Newt as the one to beat. All polls quoted on FR show Mr. Santorum is ahead.
Hmmmm......could it be either these polls are bogus or the now greatest Conservative in recorded history Mr. Santorum and the much disliked Willard have made a pact.
Just askin’
blah blah blah, tell it to Mark Levin:
Levin’s 08 piece doing the same thing Santorum did in 2008:

Levin endorsing Santorum

1-877-381-3811 I’m sure Mr. Producer will put your call through first.
GO TO HE// ROMNEY!

Now, if someone was trying to ban golf clubs or put a high tax on greens fees or ban pro football, I am sure that would draw an immediate and vociferous response from Rush.
There is truth in what you say :) I stopped listening to Rush since Bloody Thursday. I seem less stressed.
Don’t really care what your desperate little fantasies are.
Is this true about Santorum’s voting record?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2844989/posts?page=396#396
Maybe Mittens agrees with Santo’s record.
Exactly. St Rick is supposed to be pro-life all his life. Why then did he endorse a pro-abortion Romney ?
It is ok in 2008 you say, because McCain is worse.
So if Romney had been elected in 2008, St Rick will go with his president of choice to abort innocent lives?
The pro-Romney cannot be the alternative to Romney!
Why do people want flip-flop - Flip-flop Romney, flip-flop Santorum. All that flip-flop is making people dizzy!
LOL they can scream and cry but we actually get to vote. I’m guessing that Gingrich will drop out less than 24 hours later.
I'm pretty much immune to Rush at this point and can just listen to him for grins and the occasional useful tidbit of information. Rush can be entertaining ...some folks just take him waaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously (or should I say “seriesly?”)
Take care,
-Geoff
Rick has what some folks will think are extreme and antiquated views on women in his book. I have only seen excerpts, but his book seems a gold-mine of items (when taken out of context) for the MSM and Obama to use to smear him.
Not necessarily disputing your post, but I would be very interested to see a poll in a few weeks showing how much support Catholics and Evangelicals are giving Santorum. I think that would be very helpful for all of us to know. It would be enough time for this latest contraception issue to be known and understood by them. If Santorum is getting a huge majority of support from them even knowing this than we are ok....in not....well we have time to do something about it.
