Just days after appearing on the National Geographic TV Show Doomsday Prepper, a prepper from Tennessee has been declared Mentally Defective and his guns have been seized by the government. The Prepper, David Sarti is a character to say the least, but his story is somewhat disturbing and should be a wake up call for everyone.
Personally I think these shows are designed to make these people look crazy. Whether his appearance on the show played into Mr. Sartis diagnosis isnt yet clear, but apparently the State believed he was a danger to himself after a local doctor insisted that Mr. Sarti was suicidal.
Mr. Sarti denies the charges and insists that he told the doctor he was a Christian and his belief made it impossible for him to commit suicide. Here is his story:
Lesson Learned............don't go on World Wide television! Unless it is to profess your obedience.
"OPSEC people. Never let anyone know what you have."
Amen!
RKBA types learned that lesson long ago.
I’ve been a subscriber to David’s Youtube channel for nearly 2 years and have learned alot, especially regarding food storage. I do hope he gets this worked out.
Duh! If you are a "Prepper" the last thing you need is publicity! What happens if the balloon goes up and the neighbors know YOU have supplies?
With what kinds of behavior the Mental Health experts are calling normal they have no credibility to say what is Mental Illness...
I would think this gentleman needed an attorney “on call”.
It helps if said attorney is politically connected, as in he is also associated with one’s State Legislature, is a County Judge, District Attorney, etc. Many of these attorneys have a private practice, aside from their official capacity. I guess it’s called the good old boy’s network.
Btw, I think that is more important than having a physician on call.
An attorney could call a judge, aske for a writ of habeas corpus, IIRC, and he would not have had to go through all of this.
A guy would have to be crazy to go on TV...er, no wait a sec...;-)
Under the NDAA having a lawyer might not do you any good, ie if the POTUS declares you an enemy combatant. It’s like 1939 Germany............never argue with Berlin!
Publicity makes one a target. The old adage “out of sight-out of mind” makes so much sense!
Predicted this result here on FR, when show first announced.
Further predicted this will be leftist fodder to ridicule the right.
marked for later
Horrifying. I agree, keep your mouth shut. I write a blog for the Worcester (MA) Telegram and Gazette and this is one subject I will NEVER EVER write about.
I never talk about what I believe in this regard nor what I own or store. Ever.
I used to have dozens of guns and thousands of rounds of ammo, but then came the great disaster, known as the canoe sink. All were lost.
I once owned a few acres in the woods and had a small cabin, concrete block walls cover with logs, an internal well, and well stocked, but it burned down and the deed was lost.
I had various bags of real gold coins, but they fell off the back of my truck and are gone forever.
I once was very well prepared for the future, but now I just sit and moan about all of my bad luck, woe is me, poe' ole joe.
I am smart enuff not to go on TV and tell them my views about the future, I'd be called a crazy ole man, and they might find where the canoe sank.
OPSEC is vital but the action had nothing to do with the show. He published a video explaining. It occured well before the show. His heart doctor asked him if he thought of suicide and he was dumb enough to joke about it.
I don’t have a problem believing he is crazy just because he invited attention. I do have a problem with the government confiscating his property. If he is unstable, the weapons should go to a relative or to someone he designates.
Imagine the damage Obama and Bloomberg could with their their minions of liberal doctor's.
I’m sorry for your loss....Joe
