Have a family friend who lost her leg to cancer rather than lose her baby. There are a lot of people who have lost limbs for many reasons, and it’s life changing. Anything that helps them regain mobility is a blessing.

I hired a machinist a few years ago. It was almost a year before I found out he only had one leg. He was so proficient with his prosthetic leg you couldn’t tell. I found out when he asked for a day off so he could go for a fitting for his new leg. Evidently a prosthetic leg needs replacing about every 3 years.
