This really isn’t about smell, it’s a weird “green” anti-corporate fringe movement, that I first encountered in Canada about a decade ago. Think of - “I’m allergic to wheat, I’m a vegan, I’m dying from second-hand smoke, genetically engineered food is killing me, and I’m cripplingly allergic to any perfumes in the air.”
It’s all a continuum of green madness. It’s a religion of rightous self-loathing.

Yep. It has been going on for quite awhile. In fact, there was many a FReeper that celebrated the regulation of what they considered to be smelly. I wonder if they are celebrating the end result of their abandonment of conservative principles....
