Disgraced 'ogle' teacher retires
The city's king of the "rubber room" has stepped down.
Disgraced educator Alan Rosenfeld, 66, retired on February 3, after a decade of milking tax payers for a $100,049-a-year salary even though he hasn't set foot in a classroom since 2001, school officials said today.
The retirement came just days after the Post ran a series of stories exposing Rosenfeld, including how he was banished to a "rubber room" in 2001 for allegedly ogling eighth grade girls -- but then spent his time working on a personal real estate portfolio worth up to $10 million. An attorney, he also spent time working on a law practice.
The former typing teacher never taught again after the 2001 removal, but continued to pull down his six figure salary. Even after the rubber rooms were closed by Department of Education officials he continued to get paid to work in a paper-pushing job at a Long Island City school facilities warehouse.
Source said the decision to quit was entirely his own.
Even though he quit, he still will be living high off the tax payers, since he is due a $85,400 year pension for the rest of his life, plus health benefits.

May his life be ever so brief ...
Disgusting. All thanks to the Teacher’s Union.
so “oggling” is what got him there?
I mean are we talking watching the cheerleading practice on the field or pulling his pork while peeking over the viewing deck at the girls swim team?
This stinks on so many levels- do liberals have no shame at all?????????????????????????????
... wait, I know the answer
$100,000 to teach TYPING?
Since they called it "illegal" ogling, one must assume it wasn't little boys or pre-teen girls that were the target.....
“$100,000 to teach TYPING?”
Union work rules; automatic increases regardless of subject (or success in impsarting knowledge). I know a 40 yr. old pulling down $90K as a kindergarten teacher; got her masters degree (not necessary for kindergarten), is bilingual (as though this is an asset for 5 year-olds), and somehow “bi-cultural” (that’s probably adding another $10K).
This is why Americans are fleeing NJ; this parasite will top $100K in a year or two (not like the old guy in this story), and NJ taxpayers will be footing the bill for decades to come (where she teaches the schools aren’t paid for by the local property tax payers, as they are in “white” districts - they’re paid for by the surrounding “white” districts and NJ taxpayers in general).
