Conservatives are fired up, convinced that this will be a big year, but they worry that Mitt Romney will make their task harder.
The foot soldiers of the American political right have been meeting in Washington this week, and stickers and signs touting the former Massachusetts governor - who's still the favorite for the GOP presidential nomination - are scarce here.

Looks like the only ones buying Romney's delusions at CPAC were the paid astroturfers his campaign bussed in for his speech.

Gingrich’s speech at CPAC was outstanding!
The other two were boring and flopped out, there is no way they could beat the zero.
Go Newt!

Newt knows what to say and revs up the crowd. Myth is just damn phony.

Wonder if someone could blow up the pictures in the hall to see if there are any Nellie Olson hair styles...OTOH finding bus pictures may be easier.

Special Report. Newt won. This is his base. The comment Mitt made about being “___________________” conservative was awkward and not appropriate....Sorry didn't catch the word but Juan said it was an adjective you would use for a large wound

He doesn't have to pay the Mormons who see his presidency as vindication of their cult.
The LDS has very deep pockets and a Romney win would bring them that long sought legitimacy (or so they falsely believe).

Romney used the word “severly”. Was an odd choice of words, and—as Juan pointed out—not exactly “positive” when linked to “conservative”.

Sixty dollars. Wonder if the student Romney bussed in got paid or just class credit for going?

The word was severe. They said that is a word you use to describe a head wound, not you conservative credentials.

Romney claimed he was "SEVERELY CONSERVATIVE."
Pffffffffff.
I doubt he'll ever live it down. Which is a good thing.
To: Colofornian
Romney is a Mormon FIRST. He does not see its cultic nature...and is unfit to be president.
I pray for Romney and his family...but he cannot--must not--become president.
His world view is Mormon!
To: M. Thatcher
I for one intend to use it early and often.
Was surprised to see Shepard really hand it too him. Used that blurb. The joke burb and then mentioned the repetition of the same word, which anyone who has ever taken a basic business course knows he was using the word as a meme in an attempt to put the idea in people’s mind.....IOW he was aware that folks needed to be brainwashed in order for them to support him.
The clip he used of Newt was positive.
