It’s kind of odd that having a brokered convention is now considered a sign of failure. In the days of only newspaper reporting/editorials, the voting public wasn’t really apprised of their choices - so the conventions were a big deal. My interest in the politics of the country was non-existant until the GOP convention which resulted in Dwight Eisenhower’s nomination. It was TELEVISED - and my parents cancelled my bedtime for my initiation: staying up for however many ballots it would take for him to be nominated. That convention - and the Democrats’ [Adlai Stevenson] - were like watching a superbowl go into overtime: which state’s delegates would be the ones, and on which ballot, to tip the scales and set the confetti and balloons flying?!

Television changed EVERYTHING. Television and the cable “news” channels became the conduits for GOP and DNC party pre-determinations. This year’s cycle has made this ever so painfully clear: “ROMNEY IS THE ANNOINTED ONE, AND YOU’D BETTER GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SCULLS”.

People who haven’t been paying attention - and that’s most everybody - truly don’t have a minimum amount of interest, let alone enough interest to give careful scrutiny to their voting options. Time is so short that the only hope is force-feeding people who’ve no interest in being fed.

That 45%-47% of the nation is now on some form of public assistance bodes against conservatives - the marxist/liberals have the science of mass bribery down pat. Force-feeding is all too successful when instead of knowledge the only thing served is dessert: FREE STUFF, FREE STUFF - free stuff from food stamps to cel phones to infant-slaughter at the altar of convenience. Given those percentages, and considering the goodies Obama will promise over the coming months to elevate the “necessity of Himself” - it’s all too likely the percentage of drones will increase enough to take him over the top in November.

With this current onslaught of unconstitutional acts - the violating of the 1st Amendment - it seems Lucifer is being extra-benevolent to DearLeader: Whitney Houston’s death was untimely for her and her family, but is is being a “wag-dog” timely for Obama, as not even the shredding of the constitution warrants TV coverage and scrutiny when a celebrity has died.

Nerve wracking? Yes, yes...excruciatingly so.

You are so fortunate that your parents required that of you! And I am fortune to be able to hear your reflection of that event! It is next to impossible to know anything of historical significance these days; the progressives have so effectively taken control of the Entertainment Complex along with public education. Conservatives have never understood the battle of “optics” and “youth”. It doesn’t fit in the honesty, hard work, reward based on achievement frame of reference. Where will it all end?

I am convinced that if all conservatives turned off the TV, refused to go to the movies, buy newspapers or magazines, and stayed home praying for God’s mercy on a daily basis, we would survive this mess. But what would be the fun in that?/s

The EC (entertainment complex) needs to be shut down and shut up. That vehicle takes the progressives everywhere they want to go, and conservatives stand by and wave at the cute parade.
