We've known for a while that it was coming, but things have gone downhill at an accelerated pace lately. We have reviewed finances, checked out facilities, conversed with her Doc, and are finalizing other details to make it happen.
I want this to be acceptable to her and as non-stressful as possible, cause she's the best Mom I could have ever hoped for.
Family first, ALWAYS. Never apologize, dearest you. You havemy prayers for your Mom and your famioly. I’m sure y’all will find her the best possible care and comfort she richly deserves. Hugs, prayers and love always.
You are doing the right thing. Our Mom passed away in 2006 leaving our 85 y/o Father alone. He was in frail health but, I have 9 siblings and 7 of us lived close enough to each spend at least one day and night a week with him. Soon we were unable to handle his medical care. None of us are in that field. We did find a place that he was happy with and stayed for a little of a year before his health deteriorated further.
It will be better for all of you and having trained medical staff is certainly a huge weight lifted off of all.
