This "compromise" is no compromise at all.

I am even angrier now than when he first announced it.
The extreme degree of cynicism plus the fact that he really thinks we are this stupid.

He will not ever understand.

This isn’t about anything but freedom.

The right of life comes before the pursuit of happiness

The Federal Government is wildly out of control.

What can be done to stop it?

Because liberals think money grows on trees, this seems logical. Conservatives know better and can recognize that this is merely a lousy type of Ponzi scheme - robbing from Peter to pay Paul.

I just absolutely love how he stirred up a highly controversial issue in the middle of a presidential election cycle. And they keep saying how smart he is.

Heh.

As a Catholic and a defense attorney who used to (until my stroke in 1991) do some work for a Catholic liability insurance company, there may be a small problem with obama’s compromise, er... accommodation. Does the Church have a medical insurance company of its own ? There is no way that a Catholic medical insurance company would pay for an abortion.

I heard a stat this past week: 50% of abortions are performed on women who were contraceptive-users. Where does that put the insurance companies who’re paying for free contraceptive coverage? I don’t know how long after conception a morning-after pill works, but at some point, surgical abortion’s got to enter the picture. Where does it put the pharmaceutical companies making the pill, or IUD, or whatever if the coverage doesn’t extend to the ultimate birth-control method? Do they get sued? Are they automatically responsible for the additional “free” service to women? Who pays for the lapses in contraceptive effectiveness, and why wouldn’t this fact affect the risk/cost of participating insurance companies?

If you find yourself debating someone who thinks this is a good compromise, ask them:

"what about Catholic health insurance companies ? (There are some.)

How is this a good 'compromise' when it changes nothing for them ?

.

So...instead of being forced to provide ‘services’ that violate your conscience and religious beliefs, you can just pay someone else who will then do it on your behalf? Riiiiiiight.

I don’t know what is more frightening - the thought that they think people are stupid enough to buy this; or the thought that they actually do, themselves, believe it!

This shows his true marxist ideology in that he will never back down from his mission to destroy America.

This is the nail from which he will be hung on the cross. Now the GOP and every other freedom loving American need to show resolve and not stop. He can be defeated. But he also needs to be destroyed.

Such arrogance! The President has no delegated power to "compromise" on an area which is not within his purview in the first place.

There are those here and elsewhere who recognize that this is not about "women's health," or "contraception," or any other semantic terms used by the President and his surrogates. So-called "health care reform" itself was the Trojan Horse used by Obama and his fellow "progressives" to bypass and subvert the United States Constitution's limitations on coercive power.

". . . every word of [the Constitution] decides a question between power and liberty. . . ." - James Madison, National Gazette, January 19, 1792

Ours is a "People's" Constitution structuring and limiting the powers of our government, including that of any elected President.

That Constitution has not been amended to grant this President, or any other President, the right to violate its First Amendment's protections. Those provisions are not within the purview of the President, nor any other branch of the government.

The time has come for "the People," to assert their sovereign will and to reject all efforts to bypass or ignore the Constitution.

§ 1907. If these Commentaries shall but inspire in the rising generation a more ardent love of their country, an unquenchable thirst for liberty, and a profound reverence for the constitution and the Union, then they will have accomplished all, that their author ought to desire. Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capable, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of fife, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence. The structure has been erected by architects of consummate skill and fidelity; its foundations are solid; its compartments are beautiful, as well as useful; its arrangements are full of wisdom and order; and its defences are impregnable from without. It has been reared for immortality, if the work of man may justly aspire to such a title. It may, nevertheless, perish in an hour by the folly, or corruption, or negligence of its only keepers, THE PEOPLE. Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them."

We ought to be overjoyed from the perspective that he is bringing up this highly controversial issue in the middle of an election cycle. If I were Plouffe or Axelrod I’d put duct tape on the SOB.

Now as far as the issue itself is concerned, yes we ought to be furious. And we for sure can’t let it die.

Cost is not really the main issue, it is the first amendment separation of church and state that is the issue.

The government has stepped outside of their prescribed authority.
