Actually, I’ve done quite well with these degrees. I’m a few years from retirement and have had a good career working in social work, banking and the defense industry. In retrospecty, it’s been very “rounding” and has give me insight to lots of different people and opinions. “”””””””””
Times have changed. Now we have a zillion kids with degrees and no common sense or, more importantly, a good work ethic.
Times are always changing. In the 80s everyone lined up for MBA degrees and then there was a glut of those degrees. The problem for teachers & parents is that no one knows where the future jobs will be. The huge debts we saddled our kids with are because they don't get proper guidance & advice because few people really have good advice and are instead told they can be "whatever they want to be". Further, colleges are hugely guilty of gouging students, parents and America through this horrible open-ended student loan program. The bubble is going to blow and so many kids saddled with huge debt have gone "off the grid".
