For the record, I think Newt would probably be a decent president. In a head-to-head with Santorum I'd probably vote for him.

Severely fragmenting the conservative vote, as well as diluting our effort, is hardly what I would call “tail-kicking”. Especially when the candidate getting all this chaotic attention, based on little to nothing, is not at all what he is claimed to be.
This will wind up in another disaster similar to 2008. Mark my words.

Yes, and mostly for violating the 11th commandment on a minuscule budget and establishing a 'mean' image. I believe that if he had just ignored Mitt and instead campaigned as hard against Obama, Newt would be on top now - and our next president.
