Mitt Romney met quietly with a small group of conservative leaders in Washington on Thursday in an effort to reassure Republicans who remain skeptical about his candidacy, CNN has learned.
The Romney campaign arranged a "mix and mingle" session for the candidate to meet with conservatives Thursday afternoon at the Marriott Wardman Park, where the annual Conservative Political Action Conference is being held.

Romney knows he will get booed if he takes the stage. I wonder if he asked for the room to be stacked with his supporters in exchange for him gracing CPAC with a speech? I find it hilarious that he can’t even show his face at CPAC but instead hides in a nearby hotel.
He probably beseeched them to take the microphone before him and implore civility amongst the visitors from the hinterlands whilst he bequeaths them his pearls of moderate wisdom.
What the MSM is covering up is:
ROMNEY HAS NO PRESENCE AT THIS CPAC
No Romney Booth.
No Romney Posters.
Romney is a LOSER alone on his planet of flipflipping
shapeshifting, backstabbing, carpetbagging liberalism.

Welcom to 2008, all over again!
LOL! (worth repeating)
I’m to the point that I don’t even know who the “conservative leaders” are.............
I think this ‘private’ meeting was only a prequel to his making an address to the larger audience. The CPAC crowd isn’t likely to boo him, except perhaps the Paul people.
The problem is not that Mitt was meeting with conservative leaders - the problem is that Mitt is NOT ONE of the conservative leaders!!!
Romney speaks today at 12:55. It will be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets. I’ll be there.
You are correct there. CPAC is not run by conservatives. It is an establishment vehicle, make no mistake about that.
If Mitt get widely boo’d at CPAC ... it could end his run. On the other hand if he gets received warming and is able to excite the crowd, the race may be over.
That is what McCain did prior to the last election. He showed up with busloads of supporters who pushed the regular attendees out of the room. They shouted and stomped their approval at everything he said.
Makes you wonder about CPAC.
“Honorable Mitt Romney”...ROTFLMAO!!!
Newt gets the last word.
Got tomatoes? :-)
I am curious to see what kind of reception Ann Coulter receives.
