"Freedoms for all and privacy for families would also need to be done for a generation at least."

In agreement, replies are short.

Think of three generations of Russian commies knowing nothing else. The state is all. Everything is illegal, the state just decides whether or not to arrest you.

Then, overnight, it is a lie? Not everyone was convinced, eh.

Same in U.S.A.

Three generations!! After the schools are purged. That is "those actions need to be started on the local level."

And that is the Tea Party my dad keeps asking me, "Who's in charge of the Tea Party?"

Oh, I see. You're considering the time needed for legal political activities to correct the situation. I agree. But you also wrote...

"Everything is illegal, the state just decides whether or not to arrest you."

So there's nothing for many to lose, as it is now. There are also un-permitted, un-inspected home technical projects posted all over the Net by engineers and their technician friends--projects that use components unapproved by various authorized labs (rackets) or older types of construction that offices refuse to permit without monstrous engineering costs.

Those and many other things are already being done all around us, because more Americans would rather chance going to jail than to chance being homeless, cold and hungry. In many locales, only the licensed, approved and authorized are legally allowed to do things for themselves or start businesses (legalized briberies required).

Why all the regulations? For example, building codes are for assuring that a house is safe for an approved citizen to buy and occupy. The problem with that is the cronyism and legalized bribes that enter the picture. I saw an approved virtual gas bomb of a house for sale not long ago. The place reeked of propane leaking from several large heaters. But those selling the place were animal worshipers, environmentalists, etc.--cheerleaders for the contemporary debt regime.

In another situation, a county approved a septic system on one property with the whole leach bed on another neighbor's property. The remedy? The only option allowed by the regulating class was that of the encroached neighbor giving part of his land to the encroacher with no compensation. Why? Because the encroacher pretended to be wealthier, was a romanticist (male feminist), animal worshiping, environmentalist,... That was also a Republican county, administered mostly by monopolizing revenue suckers practicing First Settler Syndrome (only established residents allowed, no new construction except by richer folks).

Potential buyers continue to hire private inspectors, so the layers of expensive regulations are for naught. There are also "impact fees," etc., costing more than permits. The impact fee funds are used by public officials for gambling and sexual entertainment excursions (acquitted by states).

But some locales won't allow solar collectors for heating, unless they're approved in a Florida lab, or wind turbines without a particular industry certification (corporate-backed anti-competition regulations). Stone masonry for structurals in a house--especially in a foundation? Ha! Extortion time. There are also zoning ordinances (locally called "laws" nowadays) against doing any manufacturing or automotive work in "developments" with large properties and no neighboring houses in sight (see main street landlady lobby).

On the generally situation, I wasn't thinking about the time that it would take for political efforts to get us back to more freedom. I was seeing the continued decline, default process and people acting more as Czechs or Poles during the '80s (see nonpolitical politics, Havel, normalcy).

So the current environment set by the bipartisan, government-dependent, government-linked regulator class is one that will continue to decrease revenues with a vengeance. That means decreasing enforcements against honorable and moral pursuits for families in time. Make more example of 'em, and they'll tighten the screws even more and become more unexpectedly and generally hostile against the few. That's why I said, "a generation."

More people are already exercising a daily attitude of what was normal and healthy yesterday. Granted, they are few relative to the general population, but they are the real producers. There will be more of them each year. All others ride the debt regime into the abyss of their own creation.

There will also be dearths of domestic dispute cases, traffic infraction cases and even regulatory cases (smaller projects, smaller agriculture, etc.; i.e., little wealth to steal from them), causing the consumers of revenues to further extend themselves into infamy.

BTW, I'm not saying that there's any one umbrella of conspiracy over all, and I don't subscribe to the conspiracy stories seen in media. There have been many small conspiracies for increasing incomes from revenues or preventing new competition, though--thousands, at least.

Remember not only what is popularly written about Vaclav Havel but what we actually assisted with. Not that there's any great, organized conspiracy out here, either. It's just another step in an occasional, repeated, natural, historical progression.

There are very few true conservatives, indeed, and they're way down here. Meanwhile, the established class is doing all that they can to coerce the few remaining true conservatives to go on some kind of welfare or other (not going to happen).
