The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation's efforts to defuse the controversy over its funding dispute with Planned Parenthood hasn't done much to improve its standing with the California Legislative Women's Caucus.
Sen. Noreen Evans, D-Santa Rosa, said this week that the caucus has no plans to restore its partnership with the breast cancer charity.
The Komen incident left lingering questions about "whether their highest priority is women's health care," Evans said in an interview.
"Basically, the fundamental problem is this incident politicized women's health care. And I don't believe that should be a political football," she said.
Evans had announced last week that the caucus was canceling its annual bake sale for Komen and pulling sponsorship of a breast cancer awareness event that has turned the Capitol dome pink each year.
That decision followed Komen's announcement that it would cut the breast cancer screening grants it had provided to Planned Parenthood affiliates, citing a congressional inquiry.
Komen backed off after coming under fire from women's health advocates, Democratic lawmakers and others . . .

Fixed.
Translation: these feminazis wonder "whether their highest priority is sucking baby brains into the sink." Murderers, all. I condemn all abortion, with NO exceptions, not even for the life of the mother.
It is so sad that we have as a country reached the point that over 50% consider women’s health care == access to free abortions
High five. We had the same thought, 20 seconds apart.
I’m not going to let that women’s legislators group off that easy. They accuse Komen of politicizing women’s health and thats exactly what they continue to do right back at Komen. If politics weren’t that groups concern, they would join with Komen again who has done a TON to help with women deal with breast cancer. The fact that they continue to hold a grudge speaks volumes about them...that politics is THEIR priority and NOT womens health.
Obviously, the California Legislative Women’s Caucus does not care about finding a cure for breast cancer. Abortion is not “women’s health care”. It’s murder. By canceling the “bake sale” and the pink dome, they have turned this thing into a “political football”. Politicians need to keep their asses out of this.
Note that opposing abortion is “political.” Being pro-abortion is just being a rational, decent person.
Absolutely. If Komen hadn’t caved, the drop in support by the baby butchers would have been offset by new found support from the pro-life community. Now they have neither.
Komen was finished the moment it started hitting high search numbers on google.
For years I’ve seen women buying “pink” in groceries stores - soups, gadgets, whatever - and I’ve always made mention where I can they promote PP. Very few people were aware. They were supporting PP and they weren’t aware, which is a deceptive lie. That’s out and out evil.
Now they are aware. If people still want to buy pink, fine, but now they probably know EXACTLY what komen does. It’s the end for Komen, because all those oblivious women are no longer.
Correction: DEMOCRAT women in the legislature not ready to reconnect. That is because Big Brother told them to hate Komen and so they hate Komen. When Big Brother tells them its OK to reconnect with Komen, these Pavlov dogs will.
EXACTLY!
My thought exactly. If you REALLY believe this shouldn’t be a “political football,” why then do you persist in injecting politics into the issue? Evans is, after all, speaking on behalf of a group of politicians who are attempting to shame and punish a non-political organization for disagreeing with its (the political group’s) politics. Typical ‘progressive’ nonsense.
Although Komen created this P.R. debacle, the furor demonstrates once again how rabidly psychotic the American left is when it comes to ensuring that the massacre of unborn human beings continues unimpeded - or even questioned. What a marvelous legacy they’ve established - drenched in an ocean of unborn blood. Truly, these wretches define “evil.”
Maoist/cultural revolution applied to American politics. You can almost “see” them swarming with their little red books in hand.
Huh? I thought Kormen’s interest were in curing breast cancer, not aborting babies. I guess these women interviewed are of the mind that if you do not want to kill babies then you aren’t interested in women’s health.
Since went is it healthy to kill female babies.
Don’t mess with “Big Abortion”.
I share your sentiment. Do bear in mind that the 50 percent consists mostly of abortion veterans (especially embittered, divorced ones), women who were abused as girls, and single guys who want to avoid inconvenience. I ask you: Do all these people need to vote?
NEVER underestimate the desire of liberals to slaughter their young.
Right... Let's ignore the studies that show abortions correlate to higher cancer rates... And the fact that around 50% of the abortions in the United States (the ratio is worse in other countries) end with the murder of a baby girl... Yet Ms. Evans thinks that supporting abortions is equivalent to supporting 'women's health care'...
Down the Alice in Wonderland's rabbit hole we've gone...
