Well the spin is as expected. So let's get on with it. Vet Santorum, slam him with negative ads, and then we can discuss solutions. In the end, we should be evaluating the candidates based on three criteria:

1) Who has the best policies to restore our economy and provide for common defense; and
2) Who has the strength, experience and character such that we can believe he will implement his policies; and
3) Who has a chance of beating Obama.

When and under what circumstances did Aldo Santorum naturalize?

I would characterize the vote that Santorum is after as, broadly, the “Reagan Republican” vote. Basically the same people or types of people who voted for Reagan over Ford or Reagan over Bush/Anderson/Baker, etc. The Pew Political Typology categorizes these people as “enterprisers” on “staunch conservatives” in the most recent edition of the report. They are, incidentally, among the most highly educated of all typology groups.

I had a lot of relatives in Jackson County and neighboring counties at the time of the Civil War--some of them had been there since 1831. A brother of my great-great-grandfather fought on the Confederate side (he was later sheriff of Jackson Co.). Harry Truman's personal lawyer was a distant cousin of mine.

My great-great-grandfather (brother of the aforementioned Confederate) was in his 40s during the war and had a large family but eventually spent 6 months in a Union outfit--he had moved to the far southwestern part of the state before the war. He named a daughter after a Union general.

A more distant relative died in the battle of Wilson's Creek--on the Confederate side.

Casual voters, ie Newt is fine, Santorum is fine. Here in Southeast MO, people that have the desire to caucus are pretty fired up about Santorum now. Also, Santorum is the featured speaker here on Lincoln Day, which is a really big deal in our very conservative area. There have been Santorum fliers in the mail and Santorum billboard. Nothing from Gingrich, since he blew off the primary.

According to Aldo Santorum’s obit, he served in the US Air Force 1942 - 1946. After that he obtained a PhD in Clinical Psychology after which he practiced in VA Medical Centers. He would have had to be naturalized to practice as a Psychologist for the Federal Govt. Arrived in U.S.in 1930

I don’t know the answer to your question, but according to the Wikipedia page on Rick Santorum, his father came to the US at the age of 7—so the chances are good that he had become a US citizen long before Rick was born in 1958.

I haven't seen Santorum backing the global warming scam, cap and trade, amnesty, individual mandates, ObamaCare, RomneyCare, Medicare D and Dede Scuzzafava like your hero Newt, the serial adulterer

OUCH! That's gonna leave a mark!

At least Newt did NOT stop the ‘impeachment’ of the gutter snipe Clinton.... but guess who refused to have a ‘real’ trial in the Senate... And some claim they vote for ‘principled’ people.... s n i c k e r

Oh, and for any whose knee-jerk reaction is I support Romney, well I voted yesterday. In the ‘show me’ state of MO there was the option of ‘uncommitted’ and that is where my X went.
