No she actually did not. She had known Aristotle Onassis for some time during her visits to Italy to be with her sister. She knew that her husband was “playing around”, so she would take their son to Italy for weeks—did not go over real well with the rest of the family. There she met Onassis as a friend of “their group” and he fell in love with her. I don't fall in line with those that wrote they had been having an affair, as her son was always with her. Her sister,Lee Radziwill, was her rock. Just because her husband had been an habitual cheater did not mean Jackie was, but stories later were written. Jackie was a practicing Catholic and would never divorce. Later in reading much of their lives over the years and a mini series on Kennedy Woman; I got to thinking another person who would have benefited with the President out of the picture would be the rich, powerful, and in love— Onassis. As we know they later married, he died in ‘75. She then began a publishing career.
Stephen King's latest book 11/22/63 is excellent. What if you could change the past-change history.
“Jackie was a practicing Catholic and would never divorce.”
Let us not wax poetic about her Catholicism nor her piety, the only talent she ever demonstrated was the ability to chase down rich men.
