Im glad our founders didnt take this advice.I am too, however, the Founders faced a distant enemy at a time when travel and messages were very slow; when your domestic government could not track you by the second; when your domestic government didn't have chemical agents and heavy armored vehicles.

They risked their lives against a foe no one thought could be beaten, without advantages we now have. It's not as bleak as you paint it to be, but if some people choose to leave that is their prerogative.
