There really needs to be an easy way to give anonymously.

You can give anonymously. When you click the donation button I believe there is a box to check if you want the donation to be anonymous. If you mail in a check just write a note that you wish the same.
Many FReepers give quietly. I pinged onyx for verification of what I wrote.

is the link to the donations page. Once you've made your donation, you have the option of remaining anonymous on the next page. Simply delete your FR handle and check the "I wish to remain anonymous" box.
