For the life of me, I cannot figure out what, in Clint Eastwood's magnificent Superbowl ad, could possibly be offensive to Karl Rove.

Ooooopppss! Slap me upside the head! I just had an epiphany!

Karl Rove is a Party Guy. As such, he is not interested in ideas; he is interested in aggrandizing the power of the GOP party establishment. Which, like the Democrat party establishment, whole-heartedly supports the doctrine that the only good answers to American problems MUST emanate from the government in Washington.

Which of course cuts against the very grain of the Tea Party. Of which I consider myself a devoted member — as a constitutional conservative, social conservative, and fiscal conservative who passionately values my God-given (and constitutionally-guaranteed) Liberties as an American citizen.

I used to regard Karl Rove — and Ann Coulter, too — as my allies. But no longer.

Anyhoot, I LOVED Clint Eastwood's ad. He was speaking straight out of core American values and principles. He was reminding us of who we are, as Americans — we, the posterity of We the People — with such resonant gravitas.

And if Clint sells a few Chryslers along the way, I won't mind.

Great post, ColdOne! Thank you so very much!

Uhm, Clint Eastwood is an actor who reads what others, in this case Madison Avenue hacks, write.

Hi Betty, I pretty much agree with you.

To the extent that the ad might have been paid for with bailout money, or some residual thereof, then that bothers me, but the words in the ad were about American workers fighting back. I have no problem with that. But, I was a Reagan convert from the Dem Party, I have blue-collar roots, and I believe the middle class is the backbone of the USA.
