Kathleen Sebelius defends contraception rule
Politico ^ | 2/6/12 | Tim Mak

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius argued Monday that a new rule that requires many religious employers to cover birth control in employee health plans respects those with “deeply held beliefs opposing the use of birth control.” “We specifically carved out from the policy religious organizations that primarily employ people of their own faith. This exemption includes churches and other houses of worship and could also include other church-affiliated organizations,” wrote Sebelius in an op-ed in USA Today. The policy put forward by the Obama administration exempts Catholic churches but doesn’t carve out other religious institutions such as

There is no acceptable policy with an abortion mandate or with a contraception mandate, regardless of whom the mandate imposes upon. I no longer offer medical insurance, since I no longer have employees, but I had and have as much right as a free individual not to include killing babies in such a plan as a church does. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” includes the implication that all of us are entitled to the free exercise of our religion and to follow our individual religious values simply because: (1) we are free Americans, and (2) we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. This policy, regardless of special exceptions for politically potent organizations, is barbaric and unacceptable. Obama and his entire administration disgust me. If things get ugly in our country, I will not be cheering for Obama’s side - I’ll be on the side of Americans.

read between the lines on the weasel words

all Kathy and barry have to point out is that Catholic hospitals do not hire and serve “primarily people of their own faith” (true, due to open door nondiscrimination policies)

Nor will barry and Katthy consider hospitals and universities as “institutions with deeply held religious beliefs” ...

and unfortunately as in the case of Notre Dame inviting barry to speak, and Georgetown covering the cross on the podium where barry spoke, we have seen this to be true.

“This exemption includes churches and other houses of worship and could also include other church-affiliated organizations...” Weaselese. “Could” include? Does it or doesn’t it? Or do you want it vague so you can exercise more arbitrary power?

Or do you want it vague so you can exercise more arbitrary power?

The local bishop's letter of January 31, 2012 makes his position very clear:

"We can not -- and we will not -- comply with this unjust law".

IF the Catholic church can be required to provide birth control,, despite it being in direct conflict with their faith, what about Muslims?
I remember a year ago that Muslims were exempted from complying with Obamacare because it violated their faith?

Will Muslims now be forced into Obamacare?

How can you defend making a whole bunch of people do something that they consider immoral? She is making me pay for handing somebody a pill that will kill a baby. The way things are structured, I have no choice. Even making me pay for handing somebody a bunch of condoms or diaphragms is wrong. Let them pay for this stuff themselves if they want to play around.

Nor does it affect an individual woman’s freedom to decide not to use birth control.

Well now there's a huge concession.

You might might want to read what Naumann has had to say to Sebelius.

But at the same time, the Catholic leaders advocate for “social justice” which is centralized Marxist power for wealth redistribution and it comes with social Marxism which rejects individual liberty and is aggressively anti-Christian/anti-moral and anti-life.

Wait ‘til the Catholics are ordered by death panels to murder the elderly and handicapped through health care denial.

What were they thinking when they advocated for socialized medicine? I think they really don’t care about life - up the organization - because it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Marxism is another word for mass oppression, especially religious oppression, and murder.

Marxism is the opposition in the culture war that Catholics supposedly fight. But then, in one fell swoop, Catholic leaders advocated for Marxists to be in total control of human bodies and life. Stupid or evil? One or the other.

CINO’s, or Catholics in name only, are as dangerous to the Catholic Church as a whole as RINO’s are to the Republican party. They LOOK like Catholic faithful, they may even attend church regularly, but they are making confession and taking Communion under false pretenses.

God knows. Yet they fool themselves into thinking that they are “good” Catholics, when all the while they are defying the very basic tenents of their own faith.

These people are ripe for the adoption of Shari’a law. Except that Shari’a law does not permit much of this stuff either, and they back up the enforcement with things like removal of body parts, up to and including the head.

Some parishes seem to cater more to the CINO’s as well, which contributes to the problem. A parish near our house has no kneelers and you can overhear people discussing sporting events while they stand waiting for the Eucharist. Many parishoners there seem to think the Catholic Church exists to provide a place to have Fair Trade Coffee fundraisers. So we drive 45 minutes to attend a Church where reverence for the Eucharist is apparent and a pro-life prayer is said every Sunday.

These organizations will just drop offering insurance due to this ruling. Then imagine all those without insurance that now have to get onto the government plan. Hmmm.....

Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.

The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.

The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.

What were they thinking when they advocated for socialized medicine?

2,700 or so pages of 0bamacare is passed by our legislators within hours after the plan is delivered to them.

To me both Congress, Catholic Leaders and many others got suckered. They rushed to judgment which usually makes for huge mistakes. When you make a deal with the devil it is all ways a one sided affair.

To do battle over 0bamacare at this late date is better than no battle at all.

Will the American people be the winners of the war over 0bamacare?

That remains to be seen.
