The second statement is questionable, but the first is true, and ought to be addressed by the people who are attacking Ann.
Ann Coulter argues in a particular way. She always paints herself as a true conservative and those she disagrees with as godless, degenerate liberals and subjects them to ridicule.
She's not going to change that way of thinking and arguing, even if she's wrong or the people who disagree with her are more conservative.
I guess there's a kind of poetic justice in the way Ann's been dropped so quickly by fans and in the way she's being attacked by people who once worshiped her -- and being attacked in the same way that she used to attack her own targets.
But if you loved her or supported her in the past, how can all the good feeling vanish so quickly with one disagreement?
“She believes a Republican can’t win without pulling in voters who went for Obama last time. She thinks Romney is the candidate who can do that.”
That’s funny. She believes that a choice between Cool-Black Obama and Stuffed-Shirt-White Obama people will vote for the stuffed shirt? She’s not too smart.
I guess in this election instead of asking who you’d rather have a beer with it’s going to come down to: Whose country club would you rather belong to?
I predict a low turnout all around in November.
I like Ann. She's a bit over the top here, but I'll give her a pass. She has earned it.
Because I've always liked her in the past, I am mystified by her present support for Romney. Almost every one of her attacks on Gingrich are more true of Romney.
Its entirely possible to be conservative and not like Gingrich but its not easy to be conservative and support a guy like Romney. If you do, though, especially if you are a talented writer, you should be able to explain how you get intellectually from A to B and to my mind she hasn't done it.
So far the only defense I've heard of Romney from any Romniac is essentially that he is electable. For a political pro thats probably enough. For an idealogue, that isn't enough and I expect a better explanation from someone like Coulter. Til I get it her position mystifies me and when things don't make sense people tend to assume bad faith.
This is a rather large disagreement, don’t you think. She’s come out in favor of Romney and RomneyCare. I think it’s time folks realized that these “conservatives” are all entertainers and opportunists. They call themselves capitalists but they don’t really support the constitution. We are in a mess and we have been for decades. Rome lost it’s Republic and then slowly slide down hill. We have lost ours and things are moving much faster nowadays. We are like frogs in hot water.
You are exactly right Mr. X....i’m wondering if the clowns here today who are dissing Ann understand the english language the concepts in her arguement are not that hard to understand but they appear to mystify these whoop de do’s
....so lets see if we can make it clearer to them...: AS you say
‘She believes a Republican can’t win without pulling in voters who went for Obama last time. She thinks Romney is the candidate who can do that.’.
She’s RIGHT AND ROMNEY IS.....
Clearly ann has the right idea...to win the presidency we must win the Independents and Mitt scares them less than Newt...she intelligently makes 2 other crucial arguements...
There are 2 issues here.....CRUCIAL ONES.......the results of which are lethal to AMERICA and they cannot be undone.....the question becomes which candidate has the best stance on these 2 issues
1. OBAMACARE...if it is allowed to go forth and people get used to some of the treats it contains...then it cannot and will not be overturned AND AMERICA WILL FOREVER BE CONDEMEND TO GO DOWN THE SOCIALIST PATH......people simply will not let go of their treats...therefore we must back the man most likely to deep six obamacare....on Mitts website he pledges on his first day in office to write immediate waivers to each of the 50 states thereby rendering it a non starter then he pledges to work for its repeal.
2. Immigration ....if amnesty in any form goes forth its just a matter of time before America becomes CALIFORNIA...again it is something that cannot be undone AND WILL FOREVER CHANCE AMERICA... if allowed to go forth....Newt has some crazy mixed up red card guest worker scheme that will fade into general amnesty soon after its clumsyness is initiated and AMERICAA WILL BECOME CALIFORNIA..again it will not be able to be undone...
3. Ann points out that Mitt does show some willingness to be infulenced and listen to other conservative thought and with our control of both houses it will be not a difficult thing to bring him around to conplete conservative compliance...
4. What part of the above do you ding bats who diss Ann...NOT understand?
That'd be young men 19, 20, 21....... 34 years of age who have the LARGEST rate of unemployment in the nation, and for whom NO ONE has done anything!
The other faction is young women 19 to 34 who have a high unemployment rate (compared to other women their age in prior periods) and who are literally delaying having babies ~ which they want ~ because those young men they might marry, or to whom they're already married, don't have jobs.
At the moment the Obots seem to be vaguely aware that they have to DO SOMETHING to keep the young women so they've come up with this business on Free Birth Control.
The Obots, on the other hand, are promising to make the conditions of unemployment worse by an early release of hundreds of thousands of young men from the military.
I could go on with this at some length, but the problem with Ann, Bolton and others of their kind is they simply do not understand the demographics of the Great Obama Recession.
Romney is exactly the least likely candidate to pull in the youth vote. He's a guaranteed loser.
That she disagrees with many here on Romney should not be a deal-breaker, (Newt is no prize, I'm afraid).
As far as the mean comments about appearance, she is a knockout, and that's that.
At some point, we might want to stop smash-mouthing our friends, btw. It does us true harm in an upcoming election.
FTR, I'm a Santorum supporter in the primary, and I'll vote for whomever wins the GOP nomination -- NO THIRD PARTY SPOILERS!
