President Obama said Sunday that he deserves a second term despite suggesting in a similar interview three years ago that if he didnt turn around the economy in three years, his presidency was going to be a one-term proposition.
Weve made progress, Obama told NBCs Matt Lauer. The key right now is to just make sure we dont start turning in a new direction that could throw that progress off."
That new direction to which the president obliquely referred likely involves voters choosing someone else such as Mitt Romney to run the country.
Obama has made a Super Bowl pregame interview an annual tradition. Last year, he sat down with Fox News Bill OReilly. Lauer, the co-host of NBCs Today show also interviewed Obama three years ago, shortly after he was sworn into office.
I've got four years," the new president told Lauer then. "A year from now I think people are going to see that we're starting to make some progress, but there's going to be some pain out there. If I don't have this done in three years, than this is going to be a one-term proposition."

He didn’t deserve a first term...amongst many other things.
I can’t think of any president who has actually given interviews saying that he “needs” or “deserves” another term. Doesn’t this sound weird? Is this crazy or is it just me? Forget about the country....it’s all about “me.”

The only progress this Kenyan is worried about is the inroads he believes he’s made in moving this country towards his socialist utopia.
He should not have had a first term much less a second. His loss must be overwhelming enough to show him for the failure he truly is.
Let freedom ring!!!!
How generous of NBC to give BO another free campaign commercial right before the Super Bowl. The mass media in the U.S. stinks.
His second term needs to be in Ft. Leavenworth.
I’ve actually reached the point where it is hard for me to read political news. I want so much to get that POS out of there that my planned vote is already set in stone. I will vote for whichever candidate is running against him. I will do whatever I can to help the Republican candidate get elected. I feel like a TEA Party member just in a hold position, waiting for the time to meet up at the ballot booth. Obama makes me want to puke and that is the nicest thing I can think to say about him this morning.
The fact that the question needs answering in an interview with his MSM lackeys is damning.
He wouldn’t have been elected if the SRM (State Run Media) had done their job and vetted him
He didn’t deserve a FIRST term as President (much less the DNC nomination)...how could he DESERVE a second term??
He deserves to be impeached.
Very well stated, I feel the same way. I only watched brief minutes of the debates and when ever obozo comes on TV I change the channel or leave the room. I will vote against obozo no matter who is the Republican candidate. That is what “voting my conscience” means to me, vote the SOB out!
The arrogance of that pos speaks volumes

I really enjoy this little nugget...
“What’s frustrated people is that I’ve not been able to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008. Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes. But what we have been able to do is move in the right direction,” Obama said.
Second term = NO. Scrub my toilets = YES.
Yes I too will vote for whoever wins the GOP nomination...holding my nose if necessary.
We have to stop attacking our candidates. It is a fact that any of them is better then that arrogant pos
Any improvement in the economy recently, is not BECAUSE of Barack Hussein Obama, but in SPITE of him.
He has done just about everything he can to make energy sources to theis country expensive, scarce and unreliable. Spending huge amounts in the form of subsidies and government-funded loans to impractical schemes with no viable business model, allowing more and more coal-fired power generation plants to be closed because of fuel costs and emission concerns, denying access to nearby sources of petroleum because of faulty “environmental” concerns that had been ruled as having no impact previously, and looking around with unconcealed avarice at simply expropriating the major source of venture capital in this country, Obama has forced the expectations lower and lower.
But a strange thing happened on the way to the forum. New technology has unlocked vast supplies of natural gas that was previously inaccessible, and a similar technology promises to do the same for petroleum sources right within our own national borders. Wealth, real wealth, is created by the conversion of these “fossil fuels” into real products and powering services in every corner of this country. It takes truly stupendous amounts of energy, from whatever source and in many different forms, to drive the machinery of any modern society, from something as humble as a hand-held flashlight, to fabrication of vast quantities of machinery to do the bidding of millions of knowledgeable and capable operators.
We have given the opportunity for a certain segment of our population to show the rest of how things should be done. Either (A) the things that were attempted have no positive value to society, or (B) the manner in which these things were attempted was handled in such clumsy ways, as to preclude EVER being successful. Most likely (C), both of the above.
Time to let the adults back into the room. That is, if they are still available. So far, they do not seem to be responding with much enthusiasm.
